Jennifer Brewer, MD
Dr. Jennifer Brewer is a dually boarded psychiatrist and family medicine physician with a lifelong passion for seeking to understand and support the human condition. While prior to medicine her areas of study included mindfulness, neurobiology and English literature, with hobbies including cooking, travel and triathlons, her path ultimately converged on the pursuit of medicine as a way to give purpose and discipline to her broad study of the human spirit. Prior to coming to Actify, her focus was towards the treatment of those with severe or refractory mental illness, and as a result she was constantly looking for ways to improve the standard of care in mental health. Dr. Brewer sought the opportunity to work with Actify to familiarize myself with cutting edge treatments for those with difficult to treat depression or anxiety. She is genuinely excited about these novel directions for mental health treatment that allow for greater depths of healing. In addition, in my spare time she is constantly working to broaden her foundation in ancient and other cultural healing traditions which also tend to empower the individual’s journey to healing. Dr. Brewer is grateful to be a part of this organization that perceives the need to look outside the box and not settle for marginal symptom improvement for the population it serves, and she confident we will continue to grow and evolve to better support our patients.
Dr. Brewer feels it is an honor and a privilege to help individuals find their own path to well-being, and they continually inspire her to never stop learning and seeking. In addition, her dedication to wellness and healing begins in her own life. She fills her spare time with mindfulness, motion, love and growth. In addition to savoring time with her daughter, she enjoys biking, dancing, meditation, reading and travel.
